Haleakala Crater

We did the Sliding Sands Trail to the bottom and back up. It was a little under 4 miles each way and 2,500 feet of elevation and you start at 10,000 feet. I forgot a collared shirt and then I forgot sunscreen on the back of my neck. Needless to say, my neck got toasted. Fortunately, it was my only sunburn of the trip. The hike rocked. At the time we didn't notice it, but when we woke the next day, our calves were tight. They stayed sore for a few days. It also took a while to realize that our hats were causing shadows in most of the pictures. Doh! We took a ton of photos today. I tried to whittle them down, but alas...
