Summary: Potentially dangerous toy: exploding batteries! Leaky acid!
I bought this toy, LEGO Boost Creative Toolbox 17101 Fun Robot Building Set and Educational Coding Kit, for my nephew for Christmas from Amazon. A month later I asked my sister if he was enjoying it. She had to inform me that the batteries exploded and broke a bunch of parts and she’s was trying to get Lego to send her new ones. Luckily, it was still in the return period, and since Lego didn’t seem to be very responsive or helpful, I sent it back to Amazon for a refund.
He really enjoyed the toy, so I sent him another one. A month and half later, I get a text from my sister that it happened again: exploding batteries and leaky acid! Unfortunately, the return window had closed. My nephew is stuck with a broken, potentially dangerous toy and I’m out a bunch of money. It’s unfortunate because he loves this toy!
